Handprint “Happy elders”

This series of prints is a reaction to all negative messages about aging. Let’s all agree that it beats the alternative, right?

I like to look forward to aging with joy. Perhaps getting older is the perfect opportunity to free oneself from some of society’s expectations and demands for adaptation?

I chose to use a street art inspired style to contrast the rather endearing motifs and create a slightly more edgy expression.

Riso- and handprint “Deep Sea”

Riso printing is an originally Japanese printing technique that I combined with hand printing in this image series inspired by all my years of therapy and inner work. Sometimes you need to go deep within to find what you’re looking for…

Riso and hand print of a old school diver sitting on a casket under a gigant octopus
Riso and hand print of a boat in ruff sea and the text "you can only learn how to sail in the storm"

“Feed-up Animals” Riso- and handprint

Being adaptable and considerate of others is all good and well, but taken to its extreme it can become a problem. Which is the theme I explore in this series of images. Here I let animals represent the resistance to the norm. Maybe you too can recognize yourself in the little creatures who have had enough?

Here, too, I have used the Japanese printing technique of rice printing and combined it with hand-print.
